These photographs were taken during a road trip to Roosevelt Lake during May of 2007. A majority of the trip was spent driving through a series of twisting roadways along dynamited-out rock walls leading the way to the lake, which lie at the base of the dam. What struck me most about driving through the area was the contrast between the harsh desert and the lush, verdant paradise surrounding the massive Roosevelt lake. I drove with my family through the area on holiday, and the area was packed with partygoers and tourists, who conveniently enough, stayed out of my desert photos.
