The following photos were taken near Searchlight, Nevada on our way back from a trip to Las Vegas. While on the road, we noticed a small settlement on the side of the highway and stopped by to check it out. To our surprise, the structure was still intact enough to explore, though I would not say the same of the mine shafts. There's just a chilling feeling standing over a pit that could go thousands of feet deep into the ground. Regardless, that's the stuff that makes for great photograph material and interesting stories to tell.
